ADA COUNTY, Idaho — The Ada County Coroner has identified the 52-year-old woman who died in a multi-vehicle crash Saturday, Aug. 26 as Tammy Moats of Tacoma, Washington.
The 5-car crash occurred on eastbound I-84 near milepost 52, in Boise. Moats was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were injured. The Idaho State Police (ISP) said the crash happened near the Orchard exit at around 11 a.m.
According to ISP, a Nissan Sentra stopped behind a Freightliner truck because of another collision. A flatbed truck crashed into the back of the Nissan Sentra, pushing it into the Freightliner. That collision then forced the car into the other lane where it was struck by a semi.
A 36-year-old woman and 64-year-old man, also from Tacoma, were in the Nissan. The 64-year-old man was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released. The last known status of the driver was that she was hospitalized with severe injuries.
Traffic was blocked for about four hours. ISP is still investigating the crash.
